Interface Improvements

• The tabsheet style has been updated to the new Tahoe look.
• The icon buttons for selecting or creating a new archive have been replaced by standard push buttons.
• The button to start archiving is now a bit larger.
• The checkbox for archiving all mailboxes in the mailbox selection has been replaced by 2 radio buttons.

Improvements for PDF

• The Mails folder has been renamed to Emails.
• There is now an structure additional option to place the attachments into the same folder as the PDF.
• Like for the Internal Database the icon button to select a location for the PDFs has been replaced by a standard push button. Also like the Internal Database there is now a dropdown menu to make the selection of standard locations like Desktop or Documents easier.

Decrypt S/MIME

• It's finally possible to decrypt S/MIME encrypted emails. When archiving the emails are decrypted before being archived. You can decrypt already archived emails with Email -> Utilities -> Decrypt S/MIME from the menu. For decryption the required certificates must be available on the computer.

Update mailbox

• With "Update mailbox of archived Emails" it is possible to update the mailbox for archived emails. Let’s say you archived an email from your Inbox. Afterwards, you moved the email to another mailbox in your email client or account. With this option, the mailbox in the archive will be updated to the new mailbox.
• You can use either "Archive duplicate Emails" or "Update mailboxes," but not both.

Speed improvement

• Version 8.1 only has one speed improvement: adding emails for large archives has become faster. In my testing adding 200k emails went down from 70 to 58 minutes.

New file ending for archives

• Mail Archiver has an additional file ending because there were problems with the existing one on Tahoe. By default the app uses .vdb_max as file ending for the archives. For the time being both file endings are supported.

Deep Links

• Mail Archiver has a new entry in the Utilities menu "Create Deep Link". With this menu item a link in the form of "mail-archiver://%3C4F175D05-5765-472F-9AA9-"'DD5BC059414D%40me.com%3E" will be put into the clipboard. This url can be used to directly link to an email.

• Feature 5490: It's now possible to start resending the license from the Settings window.
• Feature 5518: When starting Mail Archiver from the installer the beachball no longer shows up.
